The Society's Activities
Founded in 1972, the Society usually meets on the LAST Tuesday of the month, unless otherwise specified in the programme.
The object of the Society is to promote the interest in, and the study of, local history in particular, or any other historical matter or interest bringing together local residents or other people to share and enjoy a range of social and informal activities.
The area of the Society generally covers the communities in the hamlest and villages of Birch Grove, Chelwood Common, Chelwood Gate, Danehill, Horsted Keynes, Fletching, Furners Green, Piltdown, Pippingford, Sheffield Green, Sheffield Park, Splaynes Green, Twyford, and Wych Cross.
